Monthly Report
October, 2019
- Had a meeting on Thursday, Nov 3rd with Br. Obair Siddiqui – the lead organizer of the upcoming Seerah Conference and finalized the theme, and topics that will come under discussion during the conference. These were emailed to the speakers to give them ample time to prepare their speeches.
- Gave a talk on occasion of the Friday Night Family Event on Oct 4th on the topic: “The Simplicity and Universality of Islam.”
- Delivered a khatira on Saturday, Oct 5th on the topic: “Self-Assessment.”
- On Oct 17th, along with Br Rashid Taufiq of our community, visited Sr Laurie Turner – a convert to Islam who lives at ‘Clinton Villa, 17825 Fifteen Mile Road, Apt# 72 Clinton Township MI 48305. She is lonely and disabled and wanted someone to come and educate her about Islam.
- Delivered a khutba on Friday, Oct 11th on the topic: Understanding Guidance from the Islamic Perspective.”
- Delivered a khatira on Saturday, Oct 12th on the topic: “Increasing our level of certainty in Islam.”
- Delivered a khutba on Friday, Oct 18th on the topic: “Increasing our level of certainty in Islam.”
- Delivered a khatira on Saturday, Oct 19th on the topic: “What is Tawfeeq and how to get it.”
- After Asr prayer on Sunday, Oct 20th, conducted the Nikah ceremony of Hammad Azam and Jannat Qureshi in the AMDA Masjid.
- Delivered a khatira on Saturday, Oct 26th on the topic: “Importance of Studying the Seerah?”
- Made dua on Oct 27th the occasion of the wedding reception of the daughter of brother Dr. Shahgir Ahmed at the Burton Manor Banquet Hall, in the city of Livonia.
- Participated in several meetings during the month to discuss and finalize issues related to AMDA’s 3rd Annual Seerah Conference to be held inshaAllah on Nov 1st & 2nd.
- Held Quran classes on every Wednesday and Thursday.
- Delivered a short tafsir of few verses of the Qur’an after Salat ul-Fajr every day.
