May, 2018
- Delivered a khutba on Friday, May 4th on the topic: “Concept of Forgiveness in Islam.”
- On occasion of the Friday Family Night Dinner on May 4th, Sister Semhar Araia, Managing Director of UNICEF USA gave a talk on the topic: “World’s Fastest Growing Refugee Crisis & UNICEF.”
- Delivered a khutba on Friday, May 25th on the topic: “Ramadan – A Month to Rediscover the Qur’an.”
- Participated in AMDA’s Fundraising Iftar held on Saturday, May 26th at the Balkan American Community Center in the city of Troy. Gave a very brief introductory talk inducing the guests to participate wholeheartedly in the fundraising. Also introduced the guest speaker – Dr. Muhammad Ramzi. Alhamdulillah, an amount of approximately $102k was collected.
- Set up a schedule for fundraising to be done by various charitable organizations at AMDA after Isha prayers. As per schedule, the six organizations had to do their fundraising on May 27 and on June 1, 2, 3, 8, and 9 respectively.
- Edited the I’tikaf Application Form to be filled in online by those community members who wanted to do I’tikaf in AMDA Masjid on any day(s) during the last ten days of Ramadan.
- Led the Salat ul Isha during the month of Ramadan in addition to leading the Fajr, Dhuhr and Asr prayers that I led on all days.
- Requested Imam Mustapha Elturk and Imam Mika’il Stewart Saadiq to deliver the 1:40 pm Friday Khutba at AMDA on June 1st and 8th Both Imams agreed to do so.
- Delivered a short tafsir of few verses of the Qur’an after Salat ul Fajr every day.
