April, 2017
· On Thursday, April 6th, participated with refugees in a one-hour session of English as a second language (ESL) program at the Faith Lutheran Church in Troy.
· On AMDA’s official invitation, Br Abdullah al Mamun—Deputy Executive Director of the “Muslim Legal Fund of America” (MLFA) delivered the Friday Khutba at AMDA on Friday, April 7th.
· Participated in the Friday Family Night Event on April 7th. Introduced and welcomed Br Abdullah al Mamun—Deputy Executive Director of the “Muslim Legal Fund of America” (MLFA)—a charity that funds legal work and programs to defend Muslims against injustice in American courtrooms, prisons, and communities. Also introduced and welcomed Br Mustapha Abdullah (Terry C. Holdbrooks), an ex-guard in Camp Delta, Guantanamo Bay. He spoke about his experiences at the camp and how he came about converting to Islam.
· On Saturday, April 8th there was a workshop conducted from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm by Br Khalid Iqbal, Administrative Director of Muslim Family Services on the topic: “Relax: An Alternative to Anger from Islamic Perspective.”
· On Saturday, April 8th conducted the Nikah ceremony of Tasnim and Joseph at the Marriott – Auburn Hills, Pontiac, Michigan and gave them AMDA’s Islamic Marriage Certificate after the Nikah.
· Delivered a khutba on Friday, April, 14th on the topic: “Seeking Protection of Allah.”
· On Sunday, April 23rd, gave a short talk at the San Marino Club 1686 Big Beaver Rd, Troy MI 48083 on the topic: ‘Marriage from the Islamic Perspective” at the wedding reception of Tasnim Azim and Shafiq Ahmed.
· Participated in the “Ideal Muslim” Halaqa conducted after Maghrib prayers on Friday, April 28th.
· Delivered a short tafsir of few verses of the Qur’an every day after Fajr Salah.
· Conducted the weekly Quran classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
