January 2016
· Delivered Friday Khutba at AMDA on Jan 8th and 22nd.
· Delivered Friday Khutba at IONA on Jan 15th.
· Delivered Khatira after Fajr Salah on Saturdays at AMDA.
· Invited Dr. Abdus Samie, a visiting scholar from Pakistan to our Masjid. He delivered a Khatira after Fajr prayers on Saturday, January 2nd.
· Delivered a talk on the topic, “Responding to Trials and Tribulations” on Friday, Jan 8th on the occasion of the Friday Night Family Event.
· Participated in the workshop on “Essentials of Spirituality” on Friday, January 01, 2016.
· Attended the MLK Holiday Celebration organized by the ‘Interfaith Center for Racial Justice’ (ICRJ) on Monday, Jan 18th. Interacted with various faith leaders and Imams. AMDA had sponsored a table of 10 on that occasion.
· Attended the talk organized by the Muslim Youth of AMDA on January 29th. The guest speaker, Br. Zeeshaan Bhatti gave a talk on the topic “Friendship in light of the Qur’an and Sunnah.”
· Conducted the weekly Wednesday and Thursday Qur’an classes.
· The weekly Sisters’ Halaqa conducted by Sr. Madiha Bajwa was regularly held in the Masjid.
· Sent an email to the board members with recommendation to hold a workshop on funeral rites and to conduct a blood drive in the next few months at AMDA. Both these proposals have been agreed in principle, but the dates have to be determined.
