05-01-14 – Conducted the weekly class for the course entitled, ‘Learning Arabic to Understand the Qur’an’ in AMDA Masjid.
05-02-14 – Emailed class notes and ‘Assignment for the Week’ to students of AMDA’s Qur’an Class.
05-02-14 – Delivered Friday Khutba (2nd Jama’ah).
05-03-14 – Edited and emailed the transcript of my Friday Khutba (2nd Jama’ah) on the topic: ‘Constant Awareness of Allah’ delivered on May 02, 2014 for uploading on AMDA’s website.
05-05-14 – Wrote to Sister Gail, the Administrator of ‘Zaman International’ to advise us how to go about seeking the help of an organization or agency in providing shelter to a homeless sister by the name of Kahilah Muhammad (a revert to Islam) whose case was referred to me by a Board member.
05-05-14 – Received an email from Sister Nancy Titus, Program Director of ‘Bayt Al-Zahra’, a subsidiary of ‘Zaman International’ saying that their organization will help Sister Kahilah to get settled. They were still waiting for the messages they had texted to her. Advised this development to Brothers Moudud Rahman and Muhammad Azim.
05-07-14 – Delivered a lecture on Tafsir of the Qur’an half an hour before Maghrib prayers.
05-08-14 – Conducted the weekly class for the course entitled, ‘Learning Arabic to Understand the Qur’an’ in AMDA Masjid.
05-09-14 – Delivered the Friday Khutba.
05-09-14 – Attended the 2nd ISNA Masjid Forum held at the Double Tree Hotel, 5801 Southfield Expressway, Detroit, Michigan.
05-10-14 – Attended the 2nd ISNA Masjid Forum.
05-10-14 – Emailed Br Muhammad Azim and others regarding having a meeting with Christine Suave of ‘Welcome Michigan’ to work out with her the prospect of distributing food to be provided by Zaman International to the less fortunate kids in our and neighboring communities.
05-11-14 – Wrote to Br Ferdous Ghazi to encourage and sponsor one or two youngsters with leadership qualities from the MYAMDA Youth Group to participate in the ‘Muslim Youth Counselor and Director Training Workshop’ on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Islamic Cultural Association, West 12 Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48331.
05-12-14 – Sent letter of thanks to Br Ferdous who agreed to personally sponsor one youth from the community to participate in the youth training workshop in Farmington Hills.
05-12-14 – Wrote to Dr Muzammil Siddiqi, Chairman Fiqh Council of North America, Chairman Shura Council of Southern California, and Director of the Islamic Society of Orange County to send me his power point presentation on ‘The Prophetic Masjid: The Vision of the American Masjid’ which he discussed at the 2nd ISNA Masjid Forum.
05-12-14 – Wrote to Br Moudud regarding issues involved in interviewing the existing teacher (Sister Hasina) who has been teaching in AMDA Masjid since past few years.
05-13-14 – Sent a letter of thanks to Dr Muzammil Siddiqi for sending me his power point presentation that discussed how our vision of the ‘Masjid’ in America should be.
05-14-14 – The attendance being rather low, the Tafsir lecture was replaced by a meeting with the community members in which views were exchanged on greater involvement and participation in community activities.
05-15-14 – Conducted the weekly class for the course entitled, ‘Learning Arabic to Understand the Qur’an’ in AMDA Masjid. In conjunction to the ongoing curriculum, also started to teach from the book, ‘Learn how to read al-Qur’an’.
05-16-14 – Delivered the Friday Khutba.
05-16-14 – Emailed class notes and ‘Assignment for the Week’ to students of AMDA’s Qur’an Class.
05-16-14 – Edited and emailed the transcript of my Friday Khutba on the topic: ‘Guarding the Tongue’ delivered on May 16, 2014 for uploading on AMDA’s website.
05-16-14 - Thanked the guest speaker Br Sheikh Mohammad Ishtiaq for addressing our youth in the AMDA Masjid on the topic, “Raising Tomorrow’s Leaders Today.” Thanked Br Zeeshan, our youth coordinator for organizing this event.
05-23-14 – Delivered the Friday Khutba.
05-23-14 – Attended a talk by guest speakers at IONA, Warren, MI on the topic: ‘Muhammad (SAW) as an Activist’.
05-24-14 – Edited and emailed the transcript of my Friday Khutba on the topic: ‘Al-Isra wal Mi’raj’ delivered on May 23, 2014 for uploading on AMDA’s website.
05-26-14 – Drafted the format of the ‘Marriage Certificate’ to be used by AMDA and requested Br Moin Asjad to have the matter of issuance of marriage certificate by AMDA discussed in the next Board Meeting.
05-26-14 – Wrote to Brothers Muhammad Azim, Javid Khatri, and Moin Asjad to suggest topics on which religious brochures could be published by AMDA as we hold the Board’s approval for the same.
05-26-14 – Discussed with Br Amanullah Dada, Principal of AMDA’s Sunday school the topics related to contemporary issues, the writings on which we plan to introduce in the school for the benefit of our senior students.
05-26-14 – Delivered a short lecture after Maghrib prayers on the topic: ‘Lessons to be taken from al-Isra wal Mi’raj’ (Part 1).
05-28-14 – Delivered a short lecture after Maghrib prayers on the topic: ‘Lessons to be taken from al-Isra wal Mi’raj’ (Part 2).
05-29-14 – Shared four documents relating to Islamic Marriage with Brothers Muhammad Azim, Javid Khatri, and Moin Asjad. These documents were sent to me on my request by Imam Faizul Khan of Washington. These will help in drafting our own documents as well as in the discussions that may ensue in the AMDA Board meetings when the issue of ‘Marriage Certificate’ to be used by AMDA is revisited. If required, an attorney could also vet these documents.

05-31-14 – Forwarded to Br Muhammad Azim the email received from “Pure Hand for Mankind INC’ and requested him to reply, as he thinks fit, to this and other emails received by me from charitable organizations who are making requests to use our Masjid for fundraising either during Friday Prayers or/and during the blessed month of Ramadan.
