04-02-14 – Delivered a lecture on Tafsir of the Qur’an after Isha prayers.
04-02-14 – Discussed with AMDA’s youth group leader, Br Zeeshan Rizwan the prospects of our youth to volunteer for the upcoming ISNA’s Convention in Michigan. Gave him the contact information of Br Dawood Zwink and Sr Amina Iqbal, the Executive Director and Outreach Director respectively of MMCC so that they could guide us on how to go about getting our youth involved for doing voluntary work at this convention.
04-03-14 – Conducted the weekly class for the course entitled, ‘Learning Arabic to Understand the Qur’an’ in AMDA Masjid after Maghrib prayers.
04-03-14 – Emailed AMDA Management about the conference entitled “Identity Crisis: American Muslim Youth in the Age of Fear’ being organized by the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU) on April 19. Recommended them to motivate our youth to participate in this event being held at the Muslim Unity Center.
04-04-14 – Emailed class notes and ‘Assignment for the Week’ to students of AMDA’s Qur’an Class.

04- 04-14 – Delivered Friday Khutba (2nd Jama’ah) at AMDA.
04-04-14 – Participated in the Monthly Family-Night Dinner Event. Delivered a speech on the topic: ‘Youth: Future of our Ummah’.
04-05-14 – Delivered khatira after Fajr prayers.
04-05-14 – Edited and emailed the transcript of my Friday Khutba on the topic: ‘Allah is our Rabb’ delivered on April 04 for uploading on AMDA’s website.
04-06-14 – Conducted Arabic and Qur’an Class at my home with participation of members of the community.
04-09-14 – Delivered a lecture on Tafsir of the Qur’an after Isha prayers.
04-10-14 – Informed Sister Gail, the Administrator of ‘Zaman International’ of our inclination to have our youth participate in the food distribution drive organized by them to the poor and deprived kids (18 and younger) during the summer months this year. Our youth will be trained by ‘Zaman’ before the campaign starts. Requested Sr. Gail to connect with Br Zeeshan Rizwan, our Youth Coordinator. Informed some of the senior members of AMDA about this development.

04-12-14 – Attended the 14th Annual Banquet cum Conference entitled ‘Faith in Freedom’ organized by CAIR Michigan at Burton Manor in Livonia, MI.
04-12-14 – Emailed a note of thanks to Br Zeeshan, our Youth Coordinator for keeping me and other senior members of AMDA in the loop about the upcoming youth activities in AMDA.

04-19-14 – Judged the preliminary rounds of the ‘Hadith Competition for Children’ at IONA Masjid, Warren, Michigan.
04-19-14 – Attended an event conducted by the ‘Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU)’ that featured a discussion on American Muslim youth and challenges to identity crisis. The event was held at 6 pm at the Muslim Unity Center of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
04-20-14 – Conducted Arabic and Qur’an Class at my home with participation of members of the community.
04-21-14 – Registered for the 2nd Annual ISNA Masjid Forum’ to be held at Double Tree Hotel, 5801 Southfield Expressway, Detroit, Michigan on May 9-11, 2014.
04-22-14 – Replied to an email addressed to me by a Muslim Brother who wants to bring one of her Christian acquaintances to our Masjid to show her how Muslims pray.
04-23-14 – Delivered a lecture on Tafsir of the Qur’an after Isha prayers.
04-23-14 – Advised AMDA my revised timetable for ‘Imam Office Hours’, Tafsir of the Qur’an, Arabic Class, and Weekly Khatira/lecture.
04-23-14 – Discussed with Br Zeeshan Rizwan and Br Javid Khatri about the possibility of having a meeting with officials of ‘Zaman International’ to work out the logistics of distributing food packets to the less fortunate kids in the Sterling Heights and adjoining cities/communities. We would also be extending an invitation to Zaman’s CEO, Sr Najah Bazzy to be a guest speaker on occasion of our Friday Family Dinner in June 2014. Br Ferdous Ghazi would also be providing guidance in this shared activity between MY-AMDA and Zaman.
04-24-14 – Conducted the weekly class for the course entitled, ‘Learning Arabic to Understand the Qur’an’ in AMDA Masjid after Maghrib prayers.
04-25-14 – Delivered Friday Khutba.
04-25-14 – Invited thoughts from Brothers Muhammad Azim, Moin Asjad, Javid Khatri, Zeeshan Rizwan and others on the letter addressed to me and Zeeshan by Sister Gail Zion, Administrator at Zaman International, Dearborn.
04-26-14 – Today’s was the last Khatira of the season. It was suggested by the community members that I give a short religious talk/discourse every Tuesday about half an hour before Maghrib prayers. This activity, which will take place instead of the Saturday Khatira, has to be discussed, finalized, and subsequently announced through our website.
04-26-14 – Judged the final rounds of the ‘Hadith Competition for Children’ at IONA Masjid, Warren, Michigan.
04-27-14 – Attended the ‘Outreach Program’ hosted by Tawhid Center, Farmington Hills. Participants included Br Dawood Zwink, Executive Director of MMCC and Br Asim Khan who is a Director of the MMCC Board, and the Outreach Director of Tawhid Center. There were other outreach persons from different Masajid and Islamic Centers.
