The following topics were discussed, decisions were taken.
- Minutes of May 2013 Board meeting were approved unanimously.
- Br. Javid Khatri presented the total amount collected from the month of January through April.
- Br. Moin Asjad gave update on written checks for the month of May for Masjid Construction.
- AMDA received (3) requests for fundraising in Ramadan. Two of them are from out of state. One request is from local organization. Br. Azim will contact out of state requests and tell them that may be in the future we might be able to help them.
- Regarding the request from Br. Dada to use AMDA’s address for his plan to go to prisons – Board decided to get more information about his plan before make a decision. Also need to find out the time frame for his plan.
- Br. Javid will send email to absent member regarding his response for not attending meetings regularly. Board will also look into for other board members not attending regularly.
- Bone Marrow drive – Br. Moin will be incharge for this event which will be held on June 7th, 2013. This event will start after the Friday Family Event is over. Board approved this unanimously.
- Ramadan Fund Raising Update – Br. Moin contacted a guest speaker. He is waiting for response from him.
- Br. Moin gave updates on construction. He mentioned to our construction manager to work on the out side of Masjid first so people can see the progress.
- Br. Mahiuddin gave updates on pledge cards from February fund raising.
- New chairperson from July 1st, 2013 – Will be deciced according to the decision/agreement in November 2013 meeting.
- New volunteer for AMDA accounting from July 1st, 2013 – Board will decide for new person in July Meeting.
- Br. Abu Ashraf reported in the meeting that some Standing Committee members do not want to attend Board Meetings and want only to help out in major events of AMDA. Board asked the Standing committee members to have a meeting among themselves to decide whether they want to be part of the decision making process of the Board (i.e, attend all Board meetings and vote on motions raised in Board Meetings). if they decide not to be part of the decision making process, they will not have to attend Board meetings and will surrender their voting privilege in Board Meetings. Br. Abu Ashraf is the lead to make this meeting happen for the Standing Committee members.
- There were few agenda items did not get covered due to very long discussions on above agenda items. We will try to continue next month.
