Joint Meeting – July 2012 (held on July 8)

Attendees are: Moin Asjad, Muhammad Azim, Ferdous Ghazi, Moududur Rahman, Shafiq Islam, Habeeb Syed, Mahiuddin Ahmed, Javid Khtatri, Abul Hashem Molla
Atteniding Standing Committee Members: Abu Ashraf, Abul Bashar Patwary, Zakirul Haque, Mohammed Shahidul Khan.

Attending number of members: Nine

The following topics were discussed, proposals made and adopted by the members present.

  1. AMDA Academy (Sunday School) Principal contract was finalized for a for a period of 1 year. Contract is renewable for the subsequent years. Principal’s employment and remuneration is applicable throughout the calendar year.
  2. Members those who are not attending Joint meeting as required by the constitution will be contacted and request them to explain their eligibility to serve in AMDA Boards.
  3. Masjid construction contractor was finalized per recommendation from the Construction Sub-committee. Construction subcommittee to decide the details of paper works and formalities.
  4. Suggested contribution for Ramadan Iftar: $300. Anybody can contribute different amount if wishes to do so.
  5. AMDA Iftar organizing sub committee: Br. Ferdous, Br. Zakirul Haque, Br. Ashraf and Br. Javid
  6. Taraweeh Hafez decided to be Ifdal Khan and his younger brother.
  7. Ramadan fund raising event on August 4th, 2012. Speaker suggested: Br. Dawud Walid and Br. Mohammed El-Bashir. Br. Moin and Br. Habeeb to discuss with prospective speakers for their availability
  8. Subcommittee for organizing and contacting people for Ramadan fund raising event: Br. Jami, Br. Ashraf, Br. Zakirul Haque, Br. Sahid and Br. Patwary. Sr. Marina will also be requested to be involved in contacting people.
  9. Board decided to send electronic registration request for fund raising event attendance. Responsibility: Br. Moin and Br. Habeeb. Send e-mail notification to the community immediately.
  10. Ramadan Water supply- Responsibility: Br. Hashem, Br. Sahid and Br. Bashar.
  11. Ramadan Fund raising flyer- Use the one similar to last year. Responsibilities: Br. Azim and Br. Habeeb.
  12. Eid Jamat place: AMDA temporary location. Time of prayer: 9:00 A.M. Imam: Sheikh Mohammed Ramzi. Subcommittee to organize the event: Br. Ferdous, Br. Sahid, Br. Iftekhar, Br. Shafiq, Br. Zakirul, Br. Turjo and Br. Ashraf. Br. Moin to discuss with the city for approval to put the overflow crowd to the parking lot.
  13. AMDA Chand Mela to be held on 29th Ramada. Br. Saheen (BADC) volunteered to help AMDA to organize the event.- Responsibility: Br. Ferdous
  14. Br. Moin and Br. Azim to be include in the construction subcommittee.
  15. Additional funding was approved for architect for redesign work. To reduce cost increased due to the last design iteration.
  16. Board approved to get AMDA permanent phone number. It requires a credit card to be issued in the name of AMDA.
