January, 2018

 

  • On January 1st, attended the wedding reception of Maisha & Shaffwan and gave a short talk followed by supplications to Allah (SWT) to bless the couple.

 

  • Delivered a khutba on Friday, Jan 5th on the topic: “Surat Adh-Dhuha: A Remedy for Sadness and Grief.”

 

  • Gave a talk and made duas with the congregation for the maghfirah of the deceased mother of Br Mahbub ur Rahman Quazi on the occasion of the Family Night Dinner Event on Jan 5th.

 

  • Delivered a khutba on Friday, Jan 12th on the topic: “Stages of Purification before Entering Jannah.”

 

  • Delivered a khatira after Fajr prayers on Saturday, Jan 6th on the topic: “Self- Assessment.”

 

  • Br Amin Varis delivered a khatira after Fajr prayers on Saturday, Jan 13th.

 

  • Requested Mr. Sameh Ads, President- ‘Adam Travel of Detroit’ to give a presentation at AMDA on the Hajj packages for 2018 offered by his company. He agreed to do so on February 2nd on occasion of the Friday Family Night Dinner Event.

 

  • Forwarded to the Board with my comments a proposal made by Imam Khalid Iqbal of conducting a 14 hour long weekend ‘Family Development Workshop’ at AMDA.

 

  • Forwarded to the Board a proposal for a 10 week Arabic Grammar Course to be conducted at AMDA by Br Shaik Johar.

 

  • Forwarded to the Board a proposal for a 10 hours intensive course on “Tajweed,” spread over the weekend – Jan 27th & 28th to be conducted at AMDA by Br Shafqat Shah. Later Br Shafqat informed that the proposed course would be held in the second week of March inshaAllah.

 

  • Delivered a khatira after Fajr prayers on Saturday, Jan 20th on the topic: “Is Islam easy and simple or difficult and complicated?”

 

  • A Sisters’ only halaqa was conducted by Sr Samreen on Saturday, Jan 20th on the topic: “The Power and Virtues of Forgiveness.”

 

  • Shaikh Dr Nader M. Elmarhoumi – a resident scholar, director, motivational speaker, and adviser to various Islamic organizations and a representative of ‘Al Furqaan Foundation’ gave a khutba at AMDA on Jan 26th

 

  • Br Shafeeq Bandagi from the Bloomfield Hills Community delivered a khatira after Fajr prayers on Saturday, Jan 27th on the topic of ‘Dawah to non-Muslims.’ He also shared a few success stories of reverts to Islam.

 

  • The tafsir of few verses of the Qur’an were delivered every day after Salat ul Fajr.

 

  • The weekly Quran classes were conducted on every Wednesday and Thursday.

 

  • The “Ideal Muslim Halaqa” series were conducted on every Friday after Isha prayers other than on the first Friday of the month.
