Monthly Report

March 2016 

 

·        Delivered Friday Khutba at AMDA on March 4th, 11th and 25th.

·        Delivered/organized Khatira after Fajr Salah on Saturdays. 

·        Conducted the weekly Wednesday and Thursday Qur’an class.

·        Weekly Sisters’ Halaqa was conducted in the Masjid.

·        AMDA’s First Youth Conference was held on March 4th and 5th. Discussions and discourses by eight guest speakers were conducted on the theme: ‘To be Young, Muslim, and American’.  Alhamdulillah, the event was very successful. May Allah accept it as a righteous deed in our books of good deeds.

·        Letter of Invitation was mailed on March 5th to Sheikh Ahmed Essam Salaheldin Aly, an Egyptian national, whom AMDA desires to invite for leading the tarawih prayers during Ramadan. A letter was also mailed to the American Ambassador to Egypt soliciting his help to approve issuance of visit visa to the Sheikh. 

·        On invitation of Dr. Mohammed A Salam, owner of ‘Happy smile Family Dental,’ took part in the opening ceremony of his dental clinic, and made dua with the community members for the success of the undertaking.    

·        A panel discussion on ‘Refugee and Domestic Foster Care’ was organized in collaboration with the Syrian American Rescue Network (SARN) on Saturday, March 19th at 11.00 am.

·        A talk by Shaykh Moiz Hasan on the topic, “Fuel for the Heart: Remembrance of Allah (SWT).” was organized on Saturday, March 26th after Maghrib prayers.

·        A talk by Sister Alimah Sobia Hasan on the topic “Strengthening our Iman in Difficult Times” was organized for the sisters on Tuesday, March 29th from 6:00-7:30 pm.

·        Consequent upon issuance of U.S. visit visa to Sheikh Ahmed Essam, a telephonic conversation took place with him and few board members and myself on Saturday, March 26th after the Fajr Khatira to work out the arrangements of his travel to USA and stay with us during Ramadan. He had been invited by AMDA to lead the tarawih prayers during Ramadan.
