Joint Meeting – August 2014 (held on August 9)

Following Agenda items were discussed and decisions were taken by the board:

  1. Approval of July meeting minutes – Everybody approved July Meeting minutes
  2. TAX Review – Br. Moin Asjad presented overall TAX Preparation and all the attendees approved it.
  3. Financial updates – Shafiq Islam described the financial update for account receivable and update of expenditure on behalf of Br. Moudud Rahman
  4. Annual General Meeting (AGM)to be held: date, time – Date and time will be fixed in the next meeting.
  5. AMDA Sunday School – BR. Ferdous Ghazi will volunteer to setup for Sunday school,
    – Br. Hafiz Rahman will be a coordinator from AMDA board to work with Br. Mujib Khan
    – Br. Kamrul Hasan (Jewel) agreed to volunteer for Sunday School
    – Br. Muhammad Azim informed that he is ready to mentor the new coordinator/volunteers of school if needed.
  6. Plantation/adaptation of tree in new mosque campus –-Board appreciated the thoughts and idea of Br. Rahat Khan regarding Adoptation of Trees and also proposed to request Br. Rahat khan to volunteer as a coordinator of these plan. Br. Rahat Khan gladly accepted this proposal of AMDA board and confirmed over the phone.
  7. Discussion about the planning & preparation for permanent moving to new Mosque-Br. Moin Asjad indicated that inshaAllah mosque will be move-in ready by the 1st part of the next month (September). Current Chairman will send a lease notice to the owner (landlord) of the temporary AMDA for termination within 60 days time
  8. Heads up for next Chairman for the September -December term: Br. Ahmed Jami Khan is aware of that he will be the Chairman of the board for September-December term and will start working from September 1st, 2014. Br. Jami Khan confirmed over the phone.
  9. Update of ZAKAT distribution – Board discussed about the policy of distribution of zakat fund. Based on the decision of Board, Zakat sub-committee needs to fill out the prescribed form of AMDA (available in AMDA website)to get approval of the board before distribution of fund to avoid any future complicacy from the IRS.
