Joint Meeting – June 2011

Attendees: Rafique Foflonker, Habeeb Syed, Moin Asjad, Moudud Rahman, Anwar Hussain, Mujibus Khan, Javid Khatri, Ferdous Ghazi, Mahiuddin Ahmed. Nurul Amin, Moin Mirza and Muhammed Azim.

Attending number of members: Twelve
1. Ramadan Timetable. All board members agreed with new schedule for the Ramadan Isha Prayer. This will be posted on the web site.
2. Ramadan Iftar Program. – Motion passed for the 3 days Sponsored Ifter (Fri/Sat/Sun). Lead the responsibility for clean up, managing the set up for Iftar, the supply and ordering food and organizing the events was decided. Contribution of $300.00 per family is required to sponsor Ifter. There will be no bottle water supply during the Tarawee prayer. Water will be provided by container with tap.
3. Hafiz Selection. – Board decided to keep same Hafiz from last year.
4. August 13th fund raising invitation/contact update. – Not much progress made in the above area. I will send the list again to remind group leaders.
5. August fund raising speaker selection. – Moulana Kabir of Baltimore will be invited as our fund raising guest speaker.
6. Status of AMDA Masjid Plan—Single point contact. – Br Moin Asjad – City, Br Mujibus Khan – Architectural Farm and Br Nurul Amin – Land observation. Br Nurul Amin will manage the grass cutting for the land.
7. Fund raising for AMDA thru local Masjid update. – No positive response as of right now. Members are still working to make contact with local Masjids.
8. Status of annual financial report. – Financial report for last year was presented and updated was provided for this year. Our Masjid Operations fund is depleted and need additional contribution from all AMDA members.
9. AMDA academy registration/preparation for next year. (Qari Rumon addition as a teacher)- This item was not discussed due to lack of time.
10. AMDA masjid carpet cleaning. – Board decided to clean the carper before Ramadan. Br Nurul Amin will purchase and schedule the cleaning.
11. AMDA youth group activities during Ramadan. Br Rafique and Ghazi will involve youth in the Ramadan Ifter activities.
12. Helping the new revert to Islam. – Postponed till next meeting.
